This Victorian-era ring features a rectangular Shakudo panel set in 9 karat yellow gold. The panel displays a figural design surrounded by darkened, textured metalwork characteristic of traditional Japanese metalsmithing. Shakudo pieces like this one became popular during the 19th century Meiji Restoration, when they were fashioned from repurposed samurai sword fittings. The face measures 13.4mm across and tapers down to a 2.54mm shank, giving the ring a comfortable, tapered profile on the finger.
