This Edwardian shell cameo brooch features a finely carved dancing scene in creamy white to soft coral tones. The figures are slightly reminiscent of Pierre-Auguste Cot's painting, The Storm. The oval cameo measures 45.3x33.4mm and is set within a rosy yellow gold frame accented with yellow gold leaf details. The carving is signed on the back of the cameo. The overall brooch measures 54.5x43.8mm, giving it a generous scale.
