HUGE Art Deco Flapper Cameo Ring in 14K White Gold

A substantial hardstone cameo ring from the late Art Deco period, featuring an oval cameo with an engraved portrait of a 1920s woman in flapper attire. Her hair is cropped short, she wears a headband and a bow on her blouse. The cameo itself is a translucent very deep - almost black - brownish red hue. The cameo is quite charming in subject matter-  possibly someones sweetheart or daughter, which is bezel set into a heavy frame of 14K white gold. The white gold has a warmth throughout that speaks to its age. This is a big ring built for presence, the 27mm top commanding attention while the ornate hand-engraved shoulders anchor it to the finger. The shank is not perfectly round and it has been sized once or twice in the past, it is a large and heavy gold ring, likely worn by a man at one point. A wonderful little piece of roaring Art Deco history!

CONDITION
This piece is right around 100 years old and is well loved. The ring has historical resizing and is sold as found. There is porosity visible in the metal of the shoulders where the ring was sized in the past. We cannot size this piece, but we are able to reshank this ring. The porosity is from a historical resize however the metal of the gold shank is still very thick and substantial. The cameo is well set and free of blemishes. A very cool and well loved piece of history.
