A Swedish Victorian brooch by Gustav Dahlgren & Co, rendered as a ribbon and buckle design in 18 karat yellow gold with cobalt blue enamel. The rich gold surface is engraved throughout, giving the piece a beautiful textured design that catches light across the ribbon's curves. Bead-set seed pearls in white punctuate the composition, their soft luster offsetting the saturated enamel. Fully hallmarked — an exciting find. The pin closure is a replacement.

CONDITION
Wear and chipping visible to the enamel, consistent with age. The clasp has been replaced. Additional age-related wear present throughout including a small indentation at the top.  A beautiful piece, well loved, and well over 100 years old.
