Poignant antique Georgian mourning ring with a rectangular enameled face, centered around a glazed compartment with applied gold “RB” initials on a hairwork ground. The face features both black and white enamel with striking contrast and openwork shoulder details. The reverse is engraved in memorial of Robert Batson Esq., dated 1806 — a deeply personal survivor from the early 19th century.

CONDITION

Nice condition for a piece over 200 years old. Fleabites and abrasion to the glass, light wear to the enamel, and evidence of a historical resize at one point. Sturdy and ready to collect. Please note, this is an authentic antique piece and should be worn with care and never submerged in water.
