Edwardian Diamond Comet Brooch in 18K Gold

This glittering diamond comet brooch features a sleek gold tail that sweeps back from a silver-topped comet head measuring 14mm round. Rose-cut diamonds fill the comet face, their irregular facets glittering with old world sparkle. A milgrain border frames the stones with fine beaded detail and open back settings allow light through the diamonds. The piece measures approximately 2in in length and has a streamlined,  silhouette that captures the movement of a comet streaking across the sky. Halley's Comet made a celebrated return in the early 1900s, sparked a wave of celestial-themed jewelry at each visit.

CONDITION
The brooch is in nice antique condition overall. Tension on the pin is loose. One diamond has a small chip. The piece remains lovely with bright stones and intact metalwork throughout.
