Ancient Roman Coin Ring in Contemporary Mounting in 18K Gold

This vintage ring features a fantastic ancient coin bezel set in contemporary buttery gold. The coin is a Late Roman bronze coin, c. 347–348 AD. The rustic handmade styling complements the age and texture of the ancient coin. The reverse displays the votive inscription VOT XX MVLT XXX within a laurel wreath — a commemorative type we believe to have been struck under one of the sons of Constantine the Great (Constantius II or Constans) to mark an imperial twentieth anniversary of reign. The obverse depicts an imperial bust - this has worn quit a bit with age. The bezel features a 22K gold plated bezel over solid 18K gold with a handmade demilune shank with rustic texture. This conversation starter is ready to wear or collect!

CONDITION Very nice condition with age-related wear consistent with the ancient coin and handcrafted mount. The coin is securely bezel set and the ring has a wonderful archaeological feel. Please not that this is a true ancient coin and does have oxidation and significant wear.
