This midcentury butterfly brooch comes from the workshop of Askel Holmsen, a popular Norwegian silversmith known for fine enamel work. The butterfly's wings are finished in vibrant turquoise enamel with a cool white body, and the sterling silver body carries a faded gold wash that has softened with age. The piece measures 23.53mm wide, giving it a delicate scale well suited to a lapel or collar.
