Vintage Chinese Polychrome Enamel Bird Brooch in Sterling Silver

This vintage Chinese brooch depicts a bird perched on a branch, rendered in sterling silver with gold gilt and colorful enamel. The bird's wings display multicolored enamel work, while the metal body features a combination of mesh and filigree texturing. A tiny bail attached at the top of the head allows the piece to be worn as a pendant as well as a brooch. The overall design has a naturalistic quality with excellent details.

CONDITION
The brooch shows wear consistent with age. There is light age related wear throughout, and the gold gilt has worn away in areas. The enamel displays chipping and scratching in some sections. Patina and oxidization are present throughout the metal surfaces. Overall nice condition with bright colors and a solid structure.
