Antique Victorian Mourning Brooch in 14K Gold Etruscan Revival Woven Hair Locket Sentimental Jewelry

Here is a wonderful geometric mourning locket brooch, beautifully crafted in 14K Yellow Gold. This brooch features applied designs in the Etruscan Revival Style. Victorian Etruscan Revival jewelry, inspired by ancient Etruscan designs, featured intricate gold work with granulation and filigree techniques. The reverse of the brooch features a circular window with a disk of tightly woven hair. The Buttery Gold of the brooch as a wonderful patina. The brooch has an antique tube hinge and c cache, common in brooches of the 1800s. The pin has nice tension and is wearable. The glass compartment can be very carefully opened by a jeweler if you wished to replace the contents with a sentimental treasure of your own. This beautiful sentimental piece of Victorian jewelry will be at home in any collection.

CONDITION This Victorian Brooch is in beautiful condition for being over 100 years old. The piece does have some light age related wear in the form of surface scratching, particularly on the reverse which is seen in the photos. The gold has a heavy patina in some areas which could be polished by the new owner if desired. Overall a great piece!
